New SAAQ rules a lesson in driving Montrealers crazy

This summer, a 15-metre chunk of the Ville Marie tunnel’s roof collapsed, and a city bus got trapped in apothole so massive firefighters had to evacuate its passengers. Montrealers nervously joke about when the Champlain Bridge is going to fall into the St. Lawrence—even the Catholic Church. People still seem to bedriving drunk, and cyclists and motorists can’t figure out how to share the road. It’s beginning to feel like you’ve got a 50-50 chance of survival when you leave the house.
So, naturally, I thought it’d be a perfect time to learn to drive…
